Help your child build confidence, focus, discipline and practical self-defense in a positive environment led by experienced martial arts instructors.
Our Kids Jiu-Jitsu classes offer your child the opportunity to meet new friends, connect with mentors who will guide them to excellence, and learn transferable skills that will help them in all aspects of life. What we teach at Alex Martins BJJ Academy isn’t all about self-defense — it’s about instilling strong values and promoting positive personal growth!
We offer specialized programs tailored to your child’s age and developmental stage:
Little Warriors (3 & 4 year olds): A fun, high-energy introduction to movement, focus, and basic coordination.
Little Champions (5-9 year olds): A dynamic class where kids develop self-esteem, learn effective techniques, and practice respect and teamwork with their peers.
Jr Samurai (10-16 year olds): Developing advanced techniques, mental resilience, and leadership skills for teens and pre-teens.
As your child makes the journey from white belt to black belt, they learn about goal-setting and discipline. As they practice new Jiu-Jitsu techniques with their friends, they gain teamwork and leadership skills. Each class helps them gain focus and listening skills. And as a bonus, they’ll also learn anti-bullying strategies and the fundamentals of self-defense!
Help your child build confidence, focus, discipline and practical self-defense in a positive environment led by experienced martial arts instructors. Check out our schedule below and find the class that fits for your child.

I travel the majority of the year. So I drop into whatever school looks good in the city that I’m in. Well today I came here and it’s an incredible school. If I lived in Dallas I would’ve signed up. I will also be recommending this academy to my friends if they are traveling to Dallas. 🤘Posted on Google Ben KraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. when in Dallas!! world class jujutsu, fantastic training, space and great people - Very welcoming!Posted on Google harvey giddensTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've been going to this academy for the past two years. I came here new as a blue belt. The competitiveness, the high-level intentional training, and community are massive pillars for me, and this place meets them with excellence. I love this place and am glad to call it my home academy.Posted on Google MijoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing gym! The staff and professors were all kind and welcoming! I myself came from out of town but they treated me like I was family. The technique was high level and the rolls were intense. If I’m ever in Dallas again I will most definitely visit again! OSS!Posted on Google marshall neipertTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is the BEST BJJ gym in Dallas and everybody knows it.
Alex Martins began his martial arts journey in 1997 at just 17 years old, training under Junior Cardoso in Manaus, Brazil. Today he holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and brings over two decades of experience to the mat.
With a passion that has taken him across the globe, Alex has competed extensively to sharpen his technique and expand his knowledge, always pushing to deliver the very best to his students. His teaching goes beyond submissions and sweeps: it’s about building discipline, boosting confidence, and setting people up for success both on and off the mats.
