Competition demands more than knowing techniques. Athletes need reliable takedowns, positional priorities, scoring awareness, conditioning, pacing and the ability to make decisions under pressure. Alex Martins BJJ can credibly emphasize Professor Alex Martins’ competition experience, including recognition as the IBJJF number-one ranked Black Belt Master 2 in the 2017/2018 season and a 2016 IBJJF World Master title, as currently stated on the academy site. Our Competition BJJ program brings technical systems, scoring awareness, match strategy, conditioning and pressure-tested rounds into one focused training path. Athletes work to make their best techniques more reliable while improving decision-making, pacing and composure under tournament conditions.

I travel the majority of the year. So I drop into whatever school looks good in the city that I’m in. Well today I came here and it’s an incredible school. If I lived in Dallas I would’ve signed up. I will also be recommending this academy to my friends if they are traveling to Dallas. 🤘Posted on Google Ben KraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. when in Dallas!! world class jujutsu, fantastic training, space and great people - Very welcoming!Posted on Google harvey giddensTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've been going to this academy for the past two years. I came here new as a blue belt. The competitiveness, the high-level intentional training, and community are massive pillars for me, and this place meets them with excellence. I love this place and am glad to call it my home academy.Posted on Google MijoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing gym! The staff and professors were all kind and welcoming! I myself came from out of town but they treated me like I was family. The technique was high level and the rolls were intense. If I’m ever in Dallas again I will most definitely visit again! OSS!Posted on Google marshall neipertTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Alex Martins began his martial arts journey in 1997 at just 17 years old, training under Junior Cardoso in Manaus, Brazil. Today he holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and brings over two decades of experience to the mat.
With a passion that has taken him across the globe, Alex has competed extensively to sharpen his technique and expand his knowledge, always pushing to deliver the very best to his students. His teaching goes beyond submissions and sweeps: it’s about building discipline, boosting confidence, and setting people up for success both on and off the mats.
